Sebastian Paredes was appointed Chief Executive Officer of DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited on 13 September 2010. He is also the Chairman of the Board Risk Management Committee and Non-Executive Director of DBS Bank (China) Limited.

A banker of over 30 years, Paredes has a strong track record in building franchises across multiple markets. He is highly experienced in managing complex situations and leading through times of economic volatility. As President Director of P.T. Bank Danamon, Indonesia, from 2005 to early 2010, Paredes successfully solidified the bank’s position in retail, SME and commercial banking, and made inroads into new businesses such as consumer finance and micro lending. Prior to Danamon, Paredes spent 20 years at Citi, with stints in South America, Middle East, Africa and Europe. Between 2002 and 2005, he managed 11 markets as CEO of Citigroup South Africa and regional head of Sub Saharan Africa.

An Ecuadorian citizen, Paredes holds a Bachelor degree from California State University (Fresno CA, USA) and an International MBA from IE Business School (Madrid, Spain). He speaks five languages (Spanish, English, German, French and Bahasa Indonesia).

Mr Leong Cheung is the Executive Director of Charities & Community at The Hong Kong Jockey Club. In this capacity he is also the co-chair of the Hong Kong Chapter of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Solutions Network.

Prior to joining the Club, Mr Cheung was the Operating Partner with Bain Capital. Before that he was the Managing Director of Global Sourcing & Supply Chain at Esquel Group, the founder and CEO of an education focused Internet venture, and a senior consultant at the Boston Consulting Group. Mr Cheung is also the co-founder of an innovative social enterprise, RunOurCity.

In addition to his present roles, Mr Cheung is active in the community. He currently serves as the chairperson of the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and a member on the Elderly Commission of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government. He is a director of the Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation Limited and is an adjunct professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

He founded Harbour Times and High Tide, policy-focused media in Hong Kong and recently exited those media properties via an employee buyout.

He is currently the Executive Director of the Self Storage Association Asia, a regional business group he helped found in 2014. Prior to this, he was the Managing Director, Head of Media, Asia and Europe at NexChange, the innovation ecosystem-as-a-service and co-creator of the Fintech O2O, Healthtech O2O and Block O2O brands and events. He is the former Executive Director of The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong (2007-2012), the largest Canadian business group outside of Canada. He is the Hong Kong Commissioner and MC for the World Business Angels Investment Forum (since 2017) in Istanbul and has hosted the SME Finance Forum (World Bank/IMF) in Beijing, Berlin and Madrid.

Mr Work is a co-founder and Director of the Hong Kong economic policy think tank, The Lion Rock Institute. He has worked for The Economist and on Parliament Hill with a senior Cabinet Minister in Ottawa.

Vincent leads the Applied Research and Innovation (AR&I) team. Throughout his career, he has developed a strong belief in everyone’s ability to innovate. To efficiently unlock the potential mental barriers that often gets in the way, he supports the concept of experiential learning; applied across his team engagements within and outside the group.

Together with the Service Designers and Community Builders in the AR&I team, he has developed a range of tailorable programs for Fung Group that instils the creative confidence to challenge the norm, and support our colleagues to explore and develop successful new business models, new services, or novel technology applications to meet the challenges of an ever-changing world.

Prior to joining the Fung Academy, he was working as Creative Director for the wearable division of Huawei, and as Design Director for the CE division of Philips Electronics, where he created, developed and industrialized successful novel product propositions with different businesses. As a seasoned designer practitioner, Vincent brings the adoption of genuine empathy, open ideation, and rapid and thorough development, as a unique advantage for our businesses. He believes this will enable the Fung Group to approach challenges efficiently and open new opportunities as a result.

Vincent holds a Master degree in industrial Design from the Ecole Superieure de Design Industriel, Paris.
