ABOUT THE ACCELERATOR
Future of Law is an accelerator hosted by HKSTP Global Acceleration Academy (GAA), partnered with the Law Society of Hong Kong (“LSHK”). It provides a fast track to technologies to innovate professional services for LSHK and its members. We are seeking innovative ideas and solutions that automate, disintermediate, analyse and transparentise, and otherwise enhance the cost-efficiency and effectiveness of the processes relevant to compliance and regulatory actions and supporting activities.
LSHK, incorporated in 1907, is a professional association for solicitors in Hong Kong. As of January 2021, there are 941 Hong Kong law firms, 86 registered foreign law firms, and 38 registered associations between Hong Kong law firms and registered foreign law firms (including Mainland law firms). - Supervisory Technologies (“SupTech”)
- Regulatory Technologies (“RegTech”)
- To monitor and audit HK Law Firms’ Financials and where necessary conduct inspection and enforcement actions against the same
- Timely filing annual financial returns and cooperating with regulatory actions, and the failure of which could result in the loss of license to practice law and legal and regulatory liabilities
